Over 107,600 Passports Remain Uncollected Nationwide – Nigerian Immigration Service Laments

Lamenting that efforts to contact the owners had proved abortive, the CG appealed to applicants whose passports had been produced to endeavour to pick them up at the various passport-issuing centres across the country.

The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), has revealed that 107,646 produced passports remained uncollected nationwide.

The Comptroller General of NIS, Kemi Nandap, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja through the service public relations officer (SPRO), Kenneth Udo.

Lamenting that efforts to contact the owners had proved abortive, the CG appealed to applicants whose passports had been produced to endeavour to pick them up at the various passport-issuing centres across the country.

“Applicants are therefore strongly advised to always provide verifiable addresses and phone numbers when filling out their online passport application forms for easy contact,” she said.

The NIS CG directed that all passport offices in Lagos should operate on Saturdays between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., adding that this would enable officials to attend to applicants coming to collect their produced passports only.

The statement partly read: “Therefore, those concerned are hereby informed to take advantage of this opportunity.

“For further inquiries, complaints or feedback, the service can be reached through the following channels:
