How to apply for a Luxembourg student visa?

To apply for a Luxembourg student visa, follow the steps given below:

 

·      Apply for a temporary stay authorisation: The future third-country student must submit an application for a temporary authorisation to stay, on plain paper, from their country of origin to the: Please note that the application must be submitted and approved before entering the country.

·                General Department of Immigration; or

·                The Luxembourg diplomatic or consular representation or to a diplomatic or    consular mission representing Luxembourg.

·      Apply for your visa: Within 90 days after obtaining your stay authorisation, you will need to apply for a long-stay type D visa for Luxembourg at your nearest embassy or consulate, or, failing that, to the embassy or consulate of the country in the Schengen area which represents Luxembourg for the issuance of long stay visas (only the Belgian embassy or consulate).

·      The visa, which is valid for a maximum of three months, is affixed to the passport as a seal.

·      After receiving your visa, you can fly to Luxembourg. Upon arrival, you must:

·                Register at your local administration office within three days

·                Complete a mandatory medical test

·                Apply for a residency permit within three months of your arrival

 

Your residence permit will be valid for one year or the duration of your studies if they are less than one year, and it can be renewed for the duration of your studies.
