10 Strongest Passports in The World In 2024

The Henley Passport Index, created by London-based Henley & Partners, has been tracking travel freedom in 227 countries and territories around the world for 19 years. The ranking is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

The strongest passport, which opens doors to as many as 195 countries in the world, is the Singaporean one. Just behind Singapore, in second place are the passports of Japan, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. Citizens of these countries can travel visa-free to 192 destinations.

Singapore Reclaims Title of World’s Most Powerful Passport

Singapore can once again boast about having the most powerful passport in the world.
According to a recent ranking by London-based immigration consultancy firm, Henley & Partners, Singapore is now at the top, surpassing France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.

This shift means that Singapore passport holders can enter a record 195 global destinations without a visa.

Thailand Goes Remote: New Digital Nomad Visa Unveiled

• The Thai government has introduced the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), a program that allows eligible foreign remote workers, digital nomads, freelancers and participants of cultural and other select activities to temporarily stay in Thailand for up to 180 days per visit.
• Once approved, a DTV holder can work for an overseas company, but a Work Permit is still required if the intention is to work in Thailand for a Thai employer or Thai clients.
• This new DTV category creates a more accessible immigration pathway for remote working in Thailand as compared to the separate remote work pathway provided for under the Long-Term Resident Visa – which has minimum income thresholds, may require high-level education qualifications (depending on the applicant), and otherwise imposes more stringent criteria regarding the stature of the foreign employer, among other requirements.

190 Nigerians Repatriated from UAE

The Federal Government has repatriated a total of 190 Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates.

According to a statement released by the National Emergency Management Agency signed by its Director General, Director, North Central Zone, Bashir Garga, on Tuesday, the returnees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 5:57 AM on Tuesday and were received by combined team of government officials led by NEMA.

This was disclosed by the Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Alhaji Tijani Ahmed, during the deportees’ profiling in Abuja on Friday.
